Tired Indeed
It was a great night, and a good start. There wern't as many teens as usual it being superbowl sunday and all, but it has been a long day. I pray the Lord refresh us all (the staff) as we head back to our day jobs...

Finishing Well
I desire to finish well. That means I desire to make sure that I am doing everything thoroughly and right from the beginning. I have already begun designing the preliminary designs of the “if.” If I could start a youth ministry from scratch what would I do? Where would I start? I have decided already that I don’t want to DO youth ministry the way I DID youth ministry when I was the Youth Pastor at LBCC. I desire to bring the students to a depth and relationship with Christ that is within their capacity. One of the biggest “problems” I have seen with Youth Ministry is not realizing the spiritual capacity that teens have, and their desire to love a God of love. Also, I want to take my understanding of Emergent Church and blend it to the Youth Ministry that I will be working with… I am still developing these ideas, and praying heavily for an outpouring of God’s power to complete the work that he has set before me.

Authenticity
As I begin to pray about the possibility of working with, running, being in charge of, shaping, the youth ministry at our church, one word comes to mind: Authenticity. As I look at the definition these things come to mind: genuine, faithful, accurate or reliable, denoting an emotionally appropriate, significant, purposive, and responsible mode of human life. Add to that “in Christ.” You get a coupled response of truth. Authenticity in Christ. A Christ like life that is authentic is purposive, significant, THE WAY of life.
